Zuni Albert & Dolly Banteah Pendant, Sterling Silver Turquoise Inlay Road Runner
This lovely mosaic inlay pendant featuring a road runner was created by Zuni husband and wife team Albert and Dolly Banteah. It is signed (see photo). The pendant tests as "Sterling" but is not marked. The mosaic inlay of the bird and a cactus is created using turquoise and 2 other stones. The circle of the pendant measures approximately 1 3/8 inches in diameter.
The pendant, including the bail, measures approximately 2 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom of the circle. As can be seen in the photos, there is a pin on the back of the pendant. However, the bail, which was apparently added at a later date, prohibits the use of the pin. The bail could, of course, be removed if you wish to wear the piece as a pin/brooch. The back of the pendant has some tarnish and an old price mark which I have been unable to remove (see photo).
