Floyd Lomakuyvaya Hopi Native American Sterling Silver Overlay Bear Paw Pin (1-Z45051). This pin has the Floyd Lomakuyvaya hallmark; antelope rattle. The sunface mark is the Hopi Guild hallmark.

Silver overlay is the process of cutting out a piece of silver and fusing it to another piece of silver without the use of using silver solder. This process requires high silversmithing skill level due to the risk of melting the entire piece. Both pieces of silver have to be heated close to the brink of melting point to fuse them together. This pin has a bear paw design. This piece is unmarked for silver content, but tested as solid sterling silver. The hardware was not tested and many times artist choose to use silver tone hardware due to durability and supply reasons. Some polishing or cleaning may be desired. Please see all the pictures.
