We may not always be available on weekends and/or holidays, but we will respond to your message, in the order it was received, when we return to the office. Old Harvey era Native American Indian Sterling silver arrows and whirling logs stamps and repousse pin or brooch, unmarked, but most likely Navajo. This highly collectible pin / brooch showcases Native American motif patterns stamped from end to end and hogan shaped repousse work across the piece. The presence of the whirling logs stamps indicates that this piece is probably from the 1930s or early 40s. The whirling logs symbol meant "well-being" to the Natives, a good luck symbol.

According to what we have read, whirling logs were originally used in Navajo sand paintings during healing ceremonies and other similar events. Sand paintings are temporary art, meant to be destroyed at the conclusion of a ceremony. These sand painting designs were also used in jewelry, rugs, and framed art, but the use of the whirling log symbol has been discontinued, for the most part, since the Native Americans learned of its Nazi association. Jewelry with this symbol is usually from before the 1940s. This old beauty weighs approximately 36.5 grams, and it's about 6 1/16" wide by 1" tall.

It was cleaned by the previous owner. Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art. Additional notes: Gorgeous stone and exceptional silver work. Please, carefully measure your wrist. Finger, and waist, or use an old bracelet, necklace, bolo tie, belt, and so on, to determine your size.
