This vintage tie bar and chain was part of my grandpa's Alaskan collection. He was an avid collector of native Alaskan Inuit art. The scrimshaw on this piece of walrus tooth was done by Howard Weyahok and is signed on the back. The hardware looks to be made of brass and is 2-1/2" across x 2-1/2" drop. The scrimshaw pendant is 3/4" x 1".
Here's a little more about the artist. The artist is know for carving native scenes of typical daily life, as is depicted on this item. This is a vintage item, worn and loved. I always want the true age of the piece to be represented, so I do not perform any type of cleaning or polishing.
Some verdigris and other wear may be present.
