LARGE VINTAGE STERLING & ONYX NAVAJO PIN / BROOCH WITH DANGLES! 3 x 2

  

Offered here for your consideration' is a very striking vintage Sterling silver and Onyx Navajo pin/brooch. It consists of a cross shaped backing sheet of Sterling silver that has been stamped with arcs and circles.

Atop are 2 square, two teardrop, one oval and four small round cabochons of natural Onyx stone in saw-tooth bezels. On either side of the small round cabochons are two silver drops. What makes this pin very distinctive are the three oval'drops' of Onyx cabochons. The pin is Hallmarked Sterling and has the maker mark B on the back.

This pin may have been commissioned for that company; an environmental consulting company including geologists, though I can not guarantee that. The pin back works well and is very sturdy. Other than some very light scratches, this pin is in excellent vintage condition, great patina and looks never to have been worn! A beautifully made pin with an unusual choice of stones. Stunning on a white blouse...
