They each have a domed surface and beautiful natural polish. The center cluster is surrounded by a double border of fine twisted rope with partial suns stamped along the center. Sterling drops of silver accent each outer stone and complete the design. The pin is large and measures 2.75 inches across and 2.5 inches tall, on a slightly domed surface. It weighs a very respectable 35 grams.
The outer tear drop stones measure 11 by 6mm. The inner tear drops measure 10 by 4mm and the center oval measures 18 by 7mm.
One of the stones has a well cured hairline crack that is secure in it's mounting. The remaining are perfect which is rare for cluster work that is approximately 50 years old.
All the turquoise has a beautiful natural blue color and polish. A few of the stones are beginning to green with age...
Another desired sign of natural turquoise. No collection of fine Native American turquoise is complete without a beautiful turquoise cluster pin.
And it's always an added bonus when the artist doubles it's use by adding a hooked bail on the back for a pendant. Fine Zuni cluster work epitomizes Native American jewelry making at it's best.
