RARE OLD HAND MADE BY INDIANS STAMPED SILVER THUNDERBIRD PIN... This is an important handwrought brooch made by highly sought after San Ildefonso Pueblo silversmith Awa Tsireh d. 1955 while working at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post in Colorado Springs.

A similar piece is pictured on page 88 in Pat & Kim Messier's fantastic reference book Reassessing Hallmarks of Native Southwest Jewelry. The pin measures about 3 7/8"W by 1 5/8"H, made of unmarked coin silver or higher, artist signed, weighs 16.2 grams and in excellent vintage condition.....
