VTG Zuni Sterling Silver Turtle Pin Brooch Native American Mosaic Inlay Unsigned

  
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage Native American Zuni-style turtle brooch pin. This collectible piece features exceptional handmade channel mosaic inlay work. The turtle's main shell is crafted using rich, dark brown pen shell mosaic tiles, beautifully contrasted by a vibrant turquoise inlay neck and a small turquoise dot for the eye. The entire piece is set in solid sterling silver with carefully hand-carved silver feet. This was part of my mother's estate and the tag is rather worn, but it is a piece she bought in the 1970s durning one of our trips in the Southwest.

Condition:Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina on the silver. The inlay stones are entirely flush, intact, and secure with no missing pieces. The original roll-over safety clasp pin mechanism on the back functions smoothly and securely. I don't believe she ever wore it, but the tag certainly has creases.

Style: Native American / Southwestern / Zuni Pueblo. Materials: Authentic Turquoise, Dark Pen Shell, and Sterling Silver.

Markings: Unsigned/Unmarked (tested and confirmed sterling silver, highly characteristic of pre-1970s authentic Southwestern artisan jewelry). Measures approximately 1.5" wide x 1" high and weighs 6 grams. This exquisite piece makes a wonderful statement accessory for a coat, hat, scarf, or bag, and is a must-have addition to any vintage Native American jewelry collection.
