Large OLD Vintage Zuni RAINBOW MAN. Multi-Color Mosaic Inlay Silver Pin / Brooch. A Fantastic OLD Vintage Zuni Multi-Color Mosaic Inlay RAINBOW MAN Pin expertly. Using a Beautiful Collection of skillfully hand cut stones consisting of Turquoise, Jet, Spiny Oyster (Spondylus), and beautifully iridescent White Mother-of-Pearl. This work appears to the done by the hand of an Old Zuni Master with each stone tightly set in Beautiful stone-to-stone inlay. Patterns and set in silver channels. All stones appear to be original and have a. Each section is composed of a Stuning combination of stones that are securely set in very finely serrated silver bezels. The stonework of this Pin is accented with a variety of carefully turned silver wire, silver rope and and intricate patterns of silver raindrop beads. This Large Pin measures 2-1/4" tall by 1-3/8" at widest point. The back of the Pin is fit with a perfectly working pin and locking c-clasp closure. Pin weighs 14 grams and has a pleasing and warm dark aged patina. Superb pre-owned and Collectible condtion. Outstanding Old Vintage Zuni Quality!! To the Zuni, the Rainbow Man is a sacred being associated with precious summer rains and the beautiful colors of the heavens. It is believed the Rainbow Man design was most likely descended from the Shield of the Priesthood of the Bow, and original jewelry pieces depicting this sacred figure were used for religious or other tribal use.
