Southwestern bright green turquoise Sterling silver Navajo woman figure/pin by renowned New Mexico artist GRADY ALEXANDER, signed as shown. This figure showcases a skillfully crafted Navajo woman with a pot over her head, in a corn field with a star and sunrise stamped silver backdrop. The pot has a translucent reddish stone on top. The silver figure is adorned with 2 bright green turquoise stones with light copper/brown veins, possibly Orvil Jack turquoise or Stenich turquoise, set in smooth bezels and secured to the backdrop. The figure is set on a stand with a raised border, and has a large pin needle on the back. It's too heavy to be a regular pin/brooch, unless it's pinned to a very thick and heavy fabric. We are not exactly sure what this piece is, but it was nicely etched, stamped, and created with overlapping silver pieces to give it more dimension. This lovely figure weighs approximately 129 grams, it's 4 1/2" tall by about 3 3/4" wide. This exceptional silver sculpture is a must-have for collectors of Southwestern art.
