This listing is for a beautiful hand cast Naja pendant/pin. This Naja features gorgeous deep grooved lines. The top is crown like.It has a beautiful dark turquoise Kingman stone that dangles freely. It has a red brown matrix running through it. The stone is held securely in a plain silver bezel.
2 1/4 wide and approx. It weighs 20.7 grms.
It is solid and has a nice high polish to it. It has a pin on the back for use as a brooch. It also features a "J" hook for use on a beaded necklace and will accommodate most any size chain.
This has been tested to sterling silver as it is not marked but you can just look at it and know its sterling silver. This is a larger naja aside from the deep grooves in it, it has two silver nubs at the bottom. I don't know who made this beautiful piece but whomever did knew what they were doing.
This is really a gorgeous piece. The quality natural Kingman turquoise produced at this mine is generally medium blue with a "water web" matrix that easily distinguishes it from other turquoise. The best turquoise is a lovely blue with a black web matrix. The Kingman mine also produces a variety of turquoise ranging from pale green to blue with red, brown or yellow matrix. The Naja has its origin with the Moors in Spain. It is a good luck charm to ward off the evil eye. It was often used on the browband of Moorish Horses. It is thought that it was handed down from theish Moors to Mexico and then to the Navajo Indians. If you have any questions or if I have left anything out, please feel free to contact me.
