Gorgeous Antique Native American Large Whimsey Beaded Pin Cushion

  

This is a stunning beaded souvenir pin cushion. 9 high x 7 1/2 wide. I believe from researching that it is most probably Mohawk beadwork.

I would says it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. The background is a rich purple velvet that looks like it is not faded like most of the whimseys I have seen. The beading is thick and dimensional. There is a bird, rose and leaves beaded on the cushion.

Also the beadwork and the cushion are in very good condition for its age. The back of the piece is a tan colored material which has a few creases and stains.
