This listing is for a vintage Navajo pendant/pin made of sterling silver and turquoise. This vintage piece is GIGANTIC and by far, one of the largest turquoise cluster pendants we have collected this year. It measures 3.5 and weighs a whopping 54 grams!!
It has a rich patina and all of its original stones. It has been dated back to the later mid-century, during the Native Americans jewelry boom of the early 1960s through the 1970s. It is made from a thick and heavy plate of solid silver and 62 hand cut turquoise stones. Each stone resides securely in a sawtooth bezel with rich sky blue hues and subtle matrixes running throughout. The stones look to be from the Kingman mine and I was told by the previous owner that they were as well, however Im not 100% of them being Kingman stones. They are real US mined turquoise stones, just unsure of which mine they came from. The center features a large round stone surrounded by twisted rope and a circular row of small teardrop cut stones. Two more rows of twisted rope and larger teardrop stones follow with silver droplets lining the tips of each outer row stone.
The back of the pendant contains the pendant loop in excellent condition as well as the straight pin in perfect working order. This vintage hand made piece is sure to make a statement and be a treasured addition to your collection of Native American jewelry.
Cherish and enjoy this tangible asset for now..... And hand it down to your loved ones in the future.
