Ella Peter, a Master Navajo Silversmith, has been making jewelry for over 45 years. She was born in the Tsa-ya-toh area in New Mexico on the Navajo reservation. At a very young age, her father taught her the art of making jewelry and weaving baskets, and she has been doing so ever since. This wonderful piece is an example of her extraordinary skill and vision.
This rare vintage Ella Peter Navajo sterling silver saguaro cactus and malachite gemstone pendant/brooch is in very good condition, as shown in the photos. It has some minor surface wear and age-appropriate oxidation.
It has not been professionally cleaned so as not to compromise the beauty of the natural patina. With vintage Native American jewelry, patina can actually add beauty and value to your piece. That's why we leave it up to you to decide whether you want to clean your precious artifact or not. Please see the photos as they are part of the description and to assess the condition.
